Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner

Position Summary

​

As a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE), you'll play a crucial role in providing trauma-informed, client-centered care to survivors of sexual assault. As a PRN/on-call SANE, you will provide timely, expert forensic exams and compassionate support to patients, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary treatment team. Your work will not only help individual survivors but will also contribute to broader efforts to raise awareness and improve services for sexual assault victims.

 

Responsibilities

  • Perform forensic medical exams with or without evidence collection, ensuring compassionate, trauma-informed care for all patients.

  • Provide timely, expert response to patients reporting sexual assault, ensuring proper documentation, evidence collection, and coordination with law enforcement as needed.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary partners and participate in relevant training or case review sessions when needed.

  • Adhere to all Policies and Procedures established by CVP

 

Required Skills/Background

- Registered Nurse (RN) with strong clinical skills .

- Excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills.

- A deep understanding of trauma-informed care and the ability to work sensitively with victims of violence.

- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- A valid Mississippi Driver’s License and a clear Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
